Microsoft Outlook - IMAP

This guide is for the Windows and Mac program Microsoft Outlook, this guide does not cover the Office 365 version of Outlook nor any online email client.
!
Outlook no longer supports keeping your existing account as an archive by default and you will recieve an error message stating the Account already exists.

Follow the steps below to setup your new account whilst leaving your old account setup as an archive.

Step by Step Guide

1. Go to 'Control Panel' and find 'Mail (Microsoft Outlook)' and click it.
2. On the 'Mail Setup - Outlook' window select 'Email Accounts'.
3. This will open the 'Account Settings' window, you need to click 'New' on the toolbar.
4. This window will give you a number of options which allow you to set up the server settings for our mailbox. The 'Your Name' field should include the name you want to appear on the recipient's email program when you send them an email (this doesn't have to be the same as your email address).
In 'Account Type' select 'IMAP'. In the 'Incoming Mail Server' field you should insert zimbra.protectedservice.net (example: mail.itseeze.co.uk). For the 'Outgoing Mail Server' it should be smtp.protectedservice.net.
The 'Username' field should be filled in with your entire email address, for example test@example.co.uk. The requested password will be the password to log into your mailbox that you were sent along with your user name. Now we need to change some more advanced settings, click the 'More Settings' button in the bottom right hand corner.
5. In the 'Outgoing Server' tab ensure that your settings match the screen grab above.
6. In the 'Advanced' tab, ensure that the incoming server is set to port 993, and the outgoing server is set to 587 and ensure that 'SSL' is chosen as the method of your encrypted connection for the incoming server and 'TLS' is chose an your encryption method for the outgoing server.
Now click 'OK' and you'll be returned to the previous window.
7. Now you're back at the 'Internet Email Settings' window, on the right hand side there is a 'Test Account Settings' button. Click on this button and Outlook will test your settings are correct by sending you a test message. If everything is fine, it'll display a message like above and you can click 'Next'
8. Outlook will now finish setting your mailbox up and when complete you will receive a message like the one shown above. Congratulations you now have a fully functioning mailbox!
