Mozilla Thunderbird - IMAP

Mozilla Thunderbird is a free to download email client designed by the not for profit Mozilla Foundation. It is the most popular free to download email client outside of those provided by Microsoft and Apple and is widely used throughout the world.

Before following the below step by step guide, please find the email sent to you which contains your email settings.

Step by Step Guide

1. Open Thunderbird and select 'Tools' and then 'Account Settings' as shown in the screen grab image. In the Account Settings menu find the 'Account Actions' drop down menu in the bottom left hand corner. From this drop down menu choose 'Add Mail Account'

On the next menu insert the name you wish to be referred as when using your account, your full email address e.g info@example.com and the password that we have provided you with. Click the 'Continue' button and a 'Manual Config' button should appear to the left of it, click on this.
2. You will now be presented with a window like the one above. Ensure that your settings look similar to the above screen grab. Your incoming mail should be 'IMAP' and the server host name should zimbra.protectedservice.net (the example in the screen grab is for the domain itseeze.co.uk, insert your own domain instead). The port for incoming mail is 993. 'SSL/TLS' should be turned on and 'Authentication' should be set to 'normal password'.

For outgoing mail sure that the 'Server host name' is smtp.protectedservice.net and the port is 587. As with the incoming server, 'STARTTLS' should be turned on and 'Authentication' should be set to 'normal password'

Click Done and your account has now been setup.
