Apple Mac Mail - IMAP
Apple Macintosh personal computers are the second most popular brand of PC after Microsoft Windows branded machines. They run an operation system called OS X and have a proprietary email client known simply as Mail.
Step by Step Guide
Open your Mail client. Click on the Mail menu at the top of your Mac menu bar then Preferences.
In the Choose a mail account to add... window, click the button for Add Other Mail Account.... and click Continue.
You'll be asked to manually input more details and will be presented with Incoming Mail Server Info window. Ensure that you choose IMAP, enter the following in the Mail Server field: mail1.spoton.net. Finally, ensure your full email address and password are entered again.
You'll be asked to manually input more details and will be presented with Outgoing Mail Server Info window. Enter the following in the SMTP Server field: mail1.spoton.net. Finally, ensure your full email address and password are entered again.
Note: On older versions of Mac Mail you may be presented with slightly different windows. The final window to confirm the account details might look like this on older versions.
In the Accounts tab, click on the plus symbol in the bottom left to add new account.
Enter your full name. Enter your full email address. Enter the password that has been sent to you along with your email set up information.
When asked to enter the Port, ensure that it's set to 993. Also check that Use SSL is ticked.
When asked to enter the Port, ensure that it's set to 465. Also check that Use SSL is NOT ticked. Finally, Click the Create button.
