We've set live an update for website forms that introduces several new value formats to the field component.
Alongside the current options of text, number, email address, and password; you will also be able to select name, organisation, address, postcode, and URL.
Choosing a more specific value format helps visitors fill in the form, as browsers can use this information to show autocomplete suggestions and mobile browsers can show a more appropriate keyboard.
This also helps our websites to comply with the WCAG requirement to indicate the purpose of input fields to assistive software, such as screen readers. We will soon be publishing a guide to WCAG compliance that highlights how our website editor helps with accessibility.
