The upload component, whose option icon is shown in figure 1, creates a file upload field in a form.

File upload fields let your visitors send you files. A common use is to allow job applicants to upload a CV. Uploaded files are scanned for viruses on our server. Please note however that we cannot guarantee files are free of viruses, and you should scan all files you receive with your own virus scanner.

Editing an file upload field

Click on the file upload field to open the upload field window, as shown in figure 2.

The upload field window lets you change the following settings:

Label

The label for the field.

Field position

Whether the field is shown next to the label, below the label and full width, or below the label and indented (in order to line up with fields displayed next to their labels).

Required

Whether the visitor has to upload a file.

Maximum file size

The maximum size of file that the visitor may upload. This limit can be used to prevent very large e-mails being sent to you. Note that setting this limit too low can prevent visitors from sending you large files legitimately — for example, photographs from digital cameras.

Click OK to apply the changes to the file upload field. Click Cancel to return to the page without changing the file upload field.
