The Vimeo component, whose option icon is shown in figure 1, embeds a Vimeo video.
Vimeo videos are streamed (downloaded only as you view them) through the Vimeo video player, as shown in figure 2. This means that you can add videos to your site without worrying about any effect on the time it takes for your pages to load.
Choosing a video
Click anywhere on a Vimeo component to display the Vimeo window, as shown in figure 3.
The Vimeo window lets you change the following settings:
The address of the video on Vimeo.
The colour used for the video controls.
Whether the video title is shown.
Whether the byline — the name of the video’s uploder — is shown.
Whether the portrait — an image representing the video’s uploader — is shown.
Whether the video plays automatically when the visitor views the page.
Play in a loop
Whether the video plays in a loop.
A video should only be set to play automatically when it is the dominant content on the page. Visitors may otherwise be confused, particularly if the video can be heard but is not visible without scrolling the page.
Note that Vimeo Plus and Vimeo Pro users can override these settings for videos they upload, so some of the settings may have no effect for some videos.
Click OK to apply the changes to the video. Click Cancel to return to the page without changing the video.
