If your site is connected to Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Google Tag Manager, your shop will send Google e-commerce events to enable additional reports within Google Analytics and help you measure the success of your advertising:
A note on PayPal and ePDQ
Events are sent from the visitor’s browser, which means purchases can only be tracked if the payment is confirmed while the visitor is on the site. PayPal and ePDQ send payment confirmation asynchronously (some time after the visitor has left the site), so purchases made with these payment gateways cannot be tracked.
